cork
one of nature’s most versatile materials

What is Cork

Cork is the outer bark of the cork oak tree (Quercus Suber L).

It is an impermeable buoyant material, the phellem layer of bark tissue that is harvested for commercial use primary from Quercus Suber , which is native to southwest Europe and northwest Africa.

Cork is composed of suberin, a hydrophobic substance. Because of its impermeable, buoyant, elastic, and fire retardant properties, it is used in a variety of products, the most common of which is wine stoppers. It is a thick spongy hide that is stripped away by workers using knives and axes .

Why Cork

Cork is an eco-friendly material that is well known in many areas for its outstanding performance such as non-decaying, low thermal conductivity, noise insulation, light weight, and shock absorption, etc.

Cork is the most valuable material for making the best quality, high functioning building  materials.

It is 100 percent natural, reusable and recyclable. It is such a perfect raw material that no industrial, laboratory or technological process has yet been able to emulate its characteristics.

the world's first patented material

What is PG-CORK Granule

PG-CORK Granule is a product that is an uniquely surface-treated cork chip using SORKIE’s patented technology to make cork suitable as a building material.
